How schools.ke handles personal data, in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

1. What we collect
Account details you give us (name, email, phone), the content of messages and claims you send, schools you save, and basic usage data such as search terms. School listings contain information the school publishes on its own website.
2. How we use it
To run your account, review listings and claims, reply to messages, improve search, and keep the service secure. We use AI tools to summarise public school websites and registry data for our reviewers; your private messages are not used to train models.
3. Sharing
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that host and operate schools.ke (such as our database and hosting providers), or when the law requires it.
4. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active, and record history for up to a year. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.
